I chose Ray Of Maya in Taj Ganj for its close proximity to the Taj Mahal Eastern Gate, which I really wanted to visit. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the free daily manager's reception and the coffee shop/cafe at the hotel. The bar was a great addition and added to the overall enjoyable experience.
Occasional issues with hot water, low shower water pressure, and intermittent wifi. Expensive taxi service compared to Uber.

We had a delightful stay at a hotel near the Taj Mahal. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the gate. The staff provided excellent service, including a free pick-up from the train station. Our room was clean and comfortable, with good amenities such as mosquito lamps. We also enjoyed the delicious food at the restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel for its convenient location, friendly staff, and great value for money.

We were impressed with the extraordinary friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at Ray Of Maya. They went above and beyond to arrange transportation, explain the hot water system, and even called our next hotel for us. The location was perfect for visiting the Taj Mahal, just a short walk away. The hotel was also surprisingly quiet, providing a peaceful oasis in the chaos of India. The rooms were nicely decorated and had the added bonus of a magnifying mirror, a rare find in our travels. We appreciated the discount at the restaurant across the street and had a great experience with the driver arranged by the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service and convenient location.
While our stay at Ray Of Maya was overall enjoyable, we did encounter a few minor issues. One of the rooms had an outdated and odd-looking shower, although the owner assured us that they would be changing the shower units soon.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the wifi worked perfectly. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the Taj Mahal. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including the hotel's own restaurant and a charming café called Sheroes Cafe. The hotel is well-maintained and even has a rooftop terrace and café. I highly recommend Ray of Maya for its convenience and enjoyable experience.

Quiet and away from the busy road. Hotel was clean.
No hot water available on the day we arrived which was a shame as we had travelled for 6 hours and we were hot and dusty and looking forward to having a hot shower.

We arrived a night earlier and upgraded our room for a small fee. The double room was nice and had a balcony with a view of the Tal Mahal. The internet service was one of the best we had in our choices in India. The rooms were quite and were nicely decorated but simply. It’s is a fine hotel with friendly staff.
Niets het was prima plek om te slapen.

Everything was excellent about this hotel (not something I say very often!), especially the polite, helpful staff. Room, facilities in room & location (walking distance to Taj) were faultless. Quiet location (set back from busy road). Nice restaurant in nearby sister hotel. Good value for money! Thank you, Ray of Maya!

We stayed at Ray of Maya for one night, with the sole purpose of visiting the Taj Mahal. The location was perfect, just a short walk through the adjacent park to the Taj Mahal entrance. The room was spacious, well-laid out, and away from the road, ensuring a quiet stay. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly in assisting with our bags. The manager, Mayank, was quick to address and fix a wifi issue. a comfortable and convenient stay.
Would recommend this hotel.

The staff here were lovely! The rooms were clean, and this was one of the nicest bathrooms we've had while traveling through India. Hot water! On demand! Calm, clean, and quiet location within walking distance of a popular attraction. GREAT window seat with chipmunk views. Delicious and affordable breakfast and dinner options available. Helpful and polite staff, offering tea and a relaxing space before our late train. Spacious and well-decorated room with a heater and comfy blanket. Free shuttle service, friendly and helpful staff, good price, clean room and bathroom, balcony. Free wi-fi, car park, restaurant, flat-screen TV, dryer. Highly recommended!

Perfect and spotless room, good value for money, the place looks quite new still. The restaurant of sister Maya Hotel served great food btw.
The hotel was hard to find, you actually need to go to the Maya hotel and they will take you into a muddy and filthy alley where Ray of Maya is located. Takes only 1 minute though.

The staff at the hotel were very honest and friendly, always ready to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a great bathroom and hot water. The location of the hotel was convenient, just a short walking distance from the main attractions. the breakfast provided was delicious and included in the room price.
One downside of the hotel was the nearby outdoor toilet area, which emitted a strong smell at night. Although it may be out of the hotel's control, steps could be taken to address this issue, such as contacting the neighbors to find a solution.

The staff at Ray of Maya were amazing! They went above and beyond to help us book train tickets to Varanasi and even allowed us to rest in a room after check-out until our train in the late afternoon. They even treated us to chai! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a great bathroom with hot water. The location was also convenient, just a 15-minute walk from the Taj Mahal. We highly recommend Ray of Maya!
We felt so at home at Ray of Maya that nothing was too much trouble.
